Happy 25th anniversary Lowry!

The opening of Lowry was the catalyst that transformed Salford Quays from derelict docks into a vibrant, world-class destination. It stood as a bold statement of Salford’s ambition and creativity, breathing new life into the waterfront and attracting millions of visitors.

The success of Lowry sparked further investment, paving the way for MediaCityUK and new homes, jobs, and opportunities for local people.

At the time, Salford Quays was recognised as one of the most successful regeneration projects in Europe - a true example of what vision, partnership, and community spirit can achieve.
