Homes sell fast at The Folds

Homes are selling fast at The Folds in Little Hulton with buyers preparing to lay down roots at Salford City Council’s flagship development.

All 10 homes in the first phase were snapped up, with buyers taking advantage of the generous deposit contribution scheme that some purchasers said made home ownership possible.

The second phase of 12, two, three and four-bedroom homes has now been released.
From January 2026, Salford City Council will be extending their thanks to NHS staff by offering them a deposit contribution on any three and four-bedroom home reservations

Councillor Tracy Kelly, Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Housing and Anti-Poverty at Salford City Council said “The Folds has been hugely popular with buyers wanting to get onto the property ladder, thanks in part to the deposit contribution scheme.

“Many people told us that without it, they wouldn’t have been able to buy a home so we are delighted to have been able to make people’s dreams into a reality.

“We are very excited at the thought of families starting the New Year in their new homes and hope more people come to see the show home and see what The Folds has to offer.”

The Folds is a mixed tenure site, including market sale, shared ownership and affordable rent properties and is part of a growing portfolio of residential sites to be developed by Salford City Council and Dérive – the council established independent housing provider.

The development has been built to Passivhaus standards allowing for a high level of energy efficiency across the development. All properties benefit from MVHR systems that provide a high level of comfort and indoor-air quality, whilst reducing the overall energy usage.
