Wardley CofE Primary School has received positive recognition for the excellent work it does with young people.

Ofsted inspectors carried out an inspection under Section 5 of the Education Act 2005, which saw Ofsted make the following key judgements across five areas:

  • The quality of education: Good
  • Behaviour and attitudes: Outstanding
  • Personal development: Outstanding
  • Leadership and management: Good
  • Early years provision: Outstanding

Headteacher Mrs Walker said: “We are incredibly proud to receive this extremely positive Ofsted inspection report. It is testament to the hard work and dedication from everyone in our school community; the staff, the children, their parents and our governing body.

“Our key success lies in the hands of our wonderful, positive and hard-working pupils who come to school each and every day to learn and develop in an inclusive environment. They are the future of this great city and we could not feel more proud of everyone's achievements."

Inspectors visited the school on two days in April and have just now published the Inspection report.

Councillor Jim Cammell, Lead Member of Children’s Services at Salford City Council said: “A big congratulations goes to all involved in gaining this hugely positive inspection result.

“We are proud of our local authority schools in Salford and we work hard at the council to support them in making sure our young people have a safe and caring environment in which they can grow up and learn.

“The city is working hard to become a UNICEF Child-Friendly City that formally recognises that we prioritise the rights, needs and well-being of our young people.”

Wardley CofE Primary School is located on Moss Bank Road in Swinton and caters for children aged from three-years-old to 11-years old. It has a capacity of just more than 230 pupils.

The inspection report said: “Pupils thrive in the warm and supportive climate of this school. They are keen to learn and they participate enthusiastically in their lessons. In the early years, staff skilfully help children to develop attributes such as resilience and perseverance that grow and develop as they move up through the school. This helps pupils to become highly effective learners. In most subjects, pupils achieve very well.”

“Pupils are proud to live up to the school’s high expectations for their learning and conduct. They demonstrate exemplary conduct in lessons and playtimes, striving to embody the school values of the ‘Wardley Way.’ Pupils develop a strong understanding of the diverse make-up of the local community and modern Britain. They are determined that everyone should feel welcome and be treated fairly in their school.”
