Statutory Deputy City Mayor, Lead Member for Housing and Anti-Poverty, and local Councillor Tracy Kelly said: “This project reflects the heart of what we are striving for with spaces that bring neighbours together, support children’s development and strengthen community bonds. Brookhouse has always been a cherished part of local life, and this new playground ensures it remains a place where families can gather, play and feel proud of their area. It’s about investing in people, in connection and in the wellbeing of everyone who calls this community home.”
Local Councillor Mishal Saeed, Executive Support Member for Social Care and Mental Health at Salford City Council said: “Playgrounds are more than just places to have fun, they’re where children can make friends, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle. Residents had raised the need for this vital facility for children in the area and we’re proud to see this key manifesto pledge delivered for our residents and thank all the parents who wrote to us. So, I’m thrilled to see the play area brought to life with new equipment that will benefit local children for years to come. This project reflects the spirit of collaboration and community pride, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.”
Funding was made available from Salford City Council and UK Government.
