- The website brings together local services, advice and guidance into one easy-to-use hub
- The launch is part of Salford City Council’s wider commitment to inclusive growth and reducing inequalities
Salford City Council has launched a brand-new Skills and Work website to better connect residents with the support they need to learn new skills, access training, and find good quality work.
The new site – www.salfordskillsandwork.info – brings together a wide range of local support into one accessible hub. Whether someone is leaving school or college, looking for a new job, returning to work after a period of inactivity, or considering a career change, the website makes it easier to find the right information, advice and guidance.
Councillor Pepper, Lead Member for Skills, Work and Business Support at Salford City Council, said:
The new Salford Skills and Work website is a really important step in making sure people in Salford can easily find the right support at the right time. We want everyone to have the opportunity to develop their skills, gain confidence and access high quality employment. This website brings all that support into one place – making it simpler for residents to take that next step, whatever stage they’re at."
The website is split into sections to support different audiences – including young people, adults, employers, and professionals – and covers everything from applying for apprenticeships and writing a CV to becoming a Real Living Wage Employer or supporting residents in work.
It also showcases the many organisations working across the city to support people into work or further learning, including the council’s own services such as Salford Employment Hub, Salford Supported Employment, and work and health programmes such as WorkWell.
The new site is part of the council’s wider commitment to improving employment outcomes for all residents and tackling inequalities in access to good quality work.
Residents, employers and partners are encouraged to explore the new site at www.salfordskillsandwork.info and share it with anyone who might benefit.
