Positive news for residents who use the bus and trams network across the city with fares frozen until the end of 2026 as the Bee Network continues to lead the way in making public transport more affordable, inclusive and accessible.
Transport for Greater Manchester has today (Tuesday) announced that they intend to keep the £2 single bus fare for a fourth consecutive year and freeze Metrolink fares for the sixth year in a row.
Older and disabled people will also benefit from free round-the-clock travel on Bee Network buses, with a permanent change to the concession scheme.
Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett said:
“Freezing bus and tram fares for passengers is great news for residents and staff who use public transport to travel across the region. The permanent concession for older and disabled passengers is a major step towards inclusive travel.
“We will continue to work together with our partners across Greater Manchester to help and support people with the cost-of-living and ensure public transport in the region remains affordable and accessible for all.”
