Register Office move to Buile Hill Mansion
- Grade II listed building new wedding venue.
- Combines the character and splendour of years gone by with modern day comfort and luxury.
- The mansion is at the centre of Buile Hill Park.
Salford will have a new wedding venue to be proud of at the former Buile Hill Mansion once its transformation is completed. All appointments and ceremonies will then take place at the mansion.
A Grade II listed building, the mansion is at the centre of the park and is currently being restored. It will feature an impressive ceremony room on the first floor, holding up to 80 guests, where the legal ceremony will take place.
Wedding receptions can also be booked in a separate function room (subject to availability) for couples wishing to host their ceremony and reception in one place. The function room will also accommodate up to 80 guests and is located on the ground floor of the Mansion. The function room will also be available for other events.
The computer generated images, which can all be found on the Salford City Website, provide an idea of what the mansion rooms will look like, combining the character and splendour of years gone by with modern day comfort and luxury.
The Mansion will replace Salford’s current Registry Office, with the existing one moving from the Civic Centre in Swinton to the first and second floors of the building, which will provide a ‘unique venue’ for weddings, civil partnerships, and celebrations. A downstairs cafe, function room and community and heritage exhibition spaces will also be created. A new car park is also under construction that will provide plenty of spaces for guests to park.
Bookings are now being taken for weddings and other ceremonies at the mansion from early 2026. To enquire about availability and prices please email marriages@salford.gov.uk.
A council spokesperson said: "We’re delighted to add Buile Hill Mansion to our approved list of wedding venues available for weddings from early 2026. The mansion’s original features are being restored, from the grand staircase, to the ornate windows and wrought iron radiators.
“"Buile Hill Mansion is currently being lovingly restored back to its former glory. Located at the heart of Buile Hill Park, surrounded by nature, this much-loved Grade II listed building will be a stunning venue for weddings and functions.”
