Salford Firework Weekend returns to light up the city’s skies

  • Salford City Council will be hosting two family-friendly events across Bonfire Night weekend
  • Buile Hill Park event will take place on Saturday 1 November
  • Prince’s Park, Irlam event will take place on Sunday 2 November
  • Both events are FREE to attend

Salford skies will be filled with colour this bonfire night weekend as the Salford Firework Weekend returns to the city. Local residents can enjoy some autumnal fun for the whole family and best of all, entry to both events is free.

The weekend comprises two separate events complete with firework displays, with Buile Hill Park hosting on Saturday 1 November and the fun then moves to Prince’s Park, Irlam on Sunday 2 November.

The fun kicks off from 4pm at Buile Hill Park, with a variety of different activities. There will three separate firework displays throughout the night, ranging from the Little Sparks display, with low level fireworks, suitable for younger children, followed by the bigger Firecracker display and culminating with the main display at 7.30pm.

In addition, visitors can stroll through the park along the Fire Walk, toast marshmallows at our dedicated toasting pits, and enjoy the onsite funfair with rides suitable for all ages and a selection of food and drink options.

In Irlam, Prince’s Park will host the second of the weekend’s events, from 5pm on Sunday 2 November. There’ll be a traditional bonfire, two amazing firework displays, as well as an onsite funfair and food and drink to enjoy.

Councillor Barbara Bentham, Lead Member for Neighbourhoods, Environment and Community Safety said: “We’re so pleased to be bringing Salford Firework Weekend back for 2025. These events give families the chance to celebrate Bonfire Night together in a safe, welcoming environment with all the excitement of fireworks and bonfires without the risks of home displays. We’re encouraging everyone to come along, wrap up warm, and enjoy a fantastic evening in the heart of their community.”

Attendees are encouraged to use public transport to get to both events, or alternatively, parking at Buile Hill Park is available for £5 per car but must be pre-booked in advance via the Visit Salford website.
