Swinton Sounds celebrates community and creativity
Several thousand residents turned out across Swinton over the weekend to celebrate the vibrant and diverse Swinton Sounds festival. From the grandeur of Swinton Grand Palais to the hands-on creativity at Arts Let Loose and the relaxed community atmosphere in Victoria Park, there was something for everyone.
Families gathered for the Arts Let Loose zine-making workshop on Friday afternoon. Children and adults alike immersed themselves in stickers, markers, and folded paper to design their own mini-publications.
Over at the Swinton Grand Palais, the energy shifted from quiet concentration to musical celebration. A full band took to the stage under dramatic lighting, delivering an energetic performance that had toes tapping and heads nodding.
Swinton Square became the focal point for family-friendly activities on Saturday afternoon. Followed by a varied line-up of live music performances at busy local bars The Swinton Hop House and The Wobbly Stool.
Victoria Park became a hive of family-friendly activity, with food, music, and crafts on the last day of the festival, keeping crowds engaged throughout the day. Children lined picnic tables, enjoying snacks and games, while grown-ups soaked up the sounds from the bandstand. A brief shower didn’t dampen spirits - umbrellas popped up, and the fun carried on!
