Up to £20 million of funding announced for Peel Green community-led regeneration
Peel Green in Salford is the latest place to benefit from up to £20 million of government funding.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) made the announcement on Thursday 25 September confirming the funding will be distributed over the next decade.

The investment is to help the Peel Green community drive forward change in partnership with local organisations and authorities.
It is all part of the £5 billion Pride in Place programme which puts local people across 339 neighbourhoods in the driving seat of national renewal, as government chooses unity over division.
The Pride in Place funding programme is designed to tackle local challenges, improve public spaces and boost economic activity through community-led regeneration.
Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett said: “This funding is a game-changer for Peel Green. We would like to thank the government for this vital cash injection.
“It gives us the opportunity to work with local residents to help shape the area for the better, and make a real difference.
“We will now seek the views of local residents and make sure every pound spent reflects their wishes.”
The initial announcement of the Trailblazer fund in June was made by the Chancellor at the Spending Review which outlined the government’s plans for day-to-day spending and major capital investment over the coming years.
Peel Green will now join Pendleton, which was announced to receive up to £20 million of funds in June 2025 as part of the government’s £1.5 billion Plan for Neighbourhoods Programme.
